Telef\u00f3nica is one of the biggest drivers of the digital economy in the country, with revenues of 6.68 billion pesos in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity of the company, which operates under the Movistar commercial brand, is fundamentally focused on the business of mobile telephony and connectivity, broadband services, fiber optics to the home, pay television, fixed telephony and a complete range of digital solutions for small, medium and large companies and corporations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telef\u00f3nica is present in 96 cities and municipalities in the country with fiber optics and more than 1.120 with 4G LTE mobile telephony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telef\u00f3nica closed the third quarter of 2025 with a customer base of 25.9 million across the country: 22.4 million mobile lines, 1.59 million broadband (fiber) customers and 810,000 pay TV customers (792,000 with IPTV) and 1.1 million fixed lines in service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telef\u00f3nica is one of the world’s leading telecommunications service providers. It offers fixed and mobile connectivity services, as well as a wide range of digital services for individuals and companies. The company is present in Europe and Latin America, where it has more than 337 million accesses. Telef\u00f3nica is a totally private company whose shares are listed on the continuous market of the Spanish stock exchanges and on the New York and Lima stock exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telef\u00f3nica has been present in Colombia since 2004. It began activities in the mobile telephony market, after the acquisition of Bellsouth’s cellular operation in the country. Later, in 2006, Telef\u00f3nica entered the fixed telephone market by acquiring a controlling stake in Colombia Telecomunicaciones S.A. ESP, corresponding to 52% of the Company’s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, and within the framework of capitalization and corporate reorganization processes, Telef\u00f3nica increased its stake in the Company to 67.5% and consolidated it through Telef\u00f3nica Hispanoam\u00e9rica, S.L., a company also part of the Telef\u00f3nica Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
