Level playing field in the digital ecosystem

Abstract:


Level playing field it refers to the rules in which all participants compete under the same conditions and get equal opportunity to compete. In a metaphorical way it also alludes that companies involved in a market participate without external interference affecting their ability to compete fairly.


This term apply to the telecommunication services market, allows this book to analyze the origin of the problem of asymmetric regulation of services of the digital ecosystem and its consequences, calling into question the ability of this regulatory framework to adequately protect the rights of users and safeguard a fair competition between different actors operating in the new Internet environment.

The Ecosystem and digital economy in Latin America

Abstract:


This work has develop a depth analysis in digital ecosystem in Latin America, that includes the set of infrastructures and services (platforms, access devices) associated to content provision of and Internet services. Become acquainted knowing about this ecosystem is dead serious to define public policies, in diverse areas such as the digitization of production processes and the protection of user privacy.


The ecosystem and the digital economy in Latin America is published by Telefonica Foundation, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, Bank of Latin America and Telecommunication Studies Center of Latin America.

Guía metodológica para la evaluación y gestión de los impactos del trabajo infantil en los negocios

Telefónica entregó al Pacto Mundial de Naciones Unidas una metodología para la identificación, evaluación y administración de riesgos de presencia de trabajo infantil en la cadena de valor de las empresas, con el fin de contribuir a la erradicación de este flagelo que, según la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), afecta a 215 millones de niños, niñas y adolescentes en el mundo.

Dicha metodología fue elaborada por la Fundación Telefónica en Colombia, en el marco de la mesa de trabajo de la Red Colombiana del Pacto Mundial sobre el Principio 5 -todas las empresas deben contribuir a la erradicación del trabajo infantil, en todas las actividades empresariales y relaciones comerciales-.
